No, I'm not going to burden you with my Deep Thoughts on anime in 2013. I watched some shows, but mostly I was busy with editing work. The highlights of this year include:

Animania

Hi. Happy Sunday. What's new? Trenton hungout with Phoenix, me and Phoenix's friends Michael and came to church with us. Other than annoying me, it was pretty fun. And now we're all watching tfs. Stands for team four star, an abridged parody of dragon ball Zseries. They also have one of Hellsing ultimate. Which I'm reading the manga online. By the way, THEY HAVE KEGEND OF ZELDA COMICS AT THE LIBRARY IN THE TOWN LIKE RIGHT NEXT TO MINE WERE I GO TO CHURCH AND THERES REALLY GOOD FROYO AND GUESS WHAT IM DOING THIS SUMMER?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! And there's an angel beats manga on the website!!!! I love angel beats, it's an amazing starter anime. I also want to read a Pokemon manga. I wanna read a lot of mangas. Like kuroshitsuji know in English as black butler, and written on Japanese as. Soul eater and Hellsing too. I also own dragon ball and dragon ball z, which I need to finish. So, yeah, a lot. And that's only a few.... Plus I need to work on drawing and fanfictions and writing and school and homework and stuff. But so, lots of manga for me to obsess over. Speaking of which, at the library there's an anime/manga club, the one in the next town over. I wanna to. I hope I can. I like anime/manga. I'm sorta an obsess. In case you couldn't tell. It's like dream jobs number 3. 1 and 2 are writing and video game design or testing. So........... I don't have enough time, but I'm working on it....?

I'm Tired

Last night was filled with snow, music, and drunken idiocy. Lots of drunken idiocy. People getting tackled by cops, people nearly getting run down by irate cab drivers, people spilling beer on thousands of dollars worth of DJ equipment. Some of it was pretty funny, but a lot of it was just exasperating.

Better to discuss something else, briefly. I bought Alex the Hellsing Ultimate collections for Christmas. He loved the first HELLSING anime, and I've been telling him for years, the manga storyline was so much better. But I know even if I loan him all 10 volumes, he'll never read it. He's had my copies of all the DARK TOWER books for 5 years, and hasn't made a dent in them. As in, he hasn't even finished The Gunslinger. The only way he's going to see it, is to get to watch it as a series of short movies.

In defense of Kuroko and Horizon

This article almost required me to read through a whole ton of gay porn.

So, even though I didn't, you better read it.

Almost 10,000 Views!

Hello everyone!

So I just realized I'm at about 9,990 views! Wow, in only a few months i've hit 10,000. that's insane. anyway, I'm currently working on a few different shows, that's why i've been rather quiet lately. and most of my reviews have been short and uninciteful, it's just a matter of getting back into the rhythm of watching movies for critique instead of fun.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Hellsing Ultimate

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD

Somanycharacters I am a huge fan of the original anime series Fullmetal Alchemist. It's a near-perfect vision of what anime should be. It has drama, humor, love, action, suspense, you name it, it has it. It was so good, in fact, I proclaimed it to be Something very common in anime is for a popular manga to be animated before it has concluded. This happened with the original Fullmetal Alchemist series. Once the animators hit episode 34, they had caught up to the manga. They then had to create a brand new ending to finish the series. Fast forwarding several years, the manga has been completed. Not wanting to miss any chance at milking a cash-cow, the series was remade, from the beginning, to tell the entire story. This, unfortunately, was a huge mistake. The first 34 episodes of the TV series (I don't know how many books of the manga it took) is compressed into a mere 13 episodes. The content is told in an extremely hurried fashion. While the previous series used these episodes to introduce us to the characters and to slowly build the drama, the new series rushes through everything so quickly it doesn't have a chance to breathe. "That's OK," I told myself. "On future rewatches I can watch the first 34 original TV series episodes, and then watch the new series starting at episode 14 to see the entire story."

This release from the anime OVA series HELLSING ULTIMATE includes all four episodes of the series, opening with a flashback to ten years earlier, when Integra Hellsing had first inherited the top position at the Hellsing Organization following her father's death. Her jealous uncle Richard turns deadly violent at this revelation, but in so doing, awakens the dormant Alucard. In present day, Alucard is the head of his own small chapter of Hellsing, in a small town being ravaged by a vampire priest, but when a D11 operator named Seras Victoria is mortally injured in the process, Alucard finds himself with a new immortal servant. Review #27: Hellsing Ultimate (+Hellsing Ultimate: The Dawn)

FINAL SCORE: 9/10

This review will be a little shorter than others, but not by much. First thing's first; Hellsing Ultimate is a "Re-make" of the original Hellsing, but in a rather loose sense. The first few episodes will be familiar enough to anyone who's watched the original, but after that, things change quite dramatically. Alucard, Seras, Integra and Walter are all back and all main characters, but the plot that they get involved in and the villains they must get rid of are different by a wide margin. Where the original had vampires as the main opponent of the Hellsing organization, Hellsing Ultimate makes a larger role for the Vatican, as well as adding in Nazi.

The Beginner's Guide to Anime, No. 27

As it's Halloween this week, it seems only right to cover a horror anime. Anime has a bit of a reputation for being violent and with blood by the bucket-load, this series does nothing to change that impression. It's like a combination of every horror B-Movie you can think of, especially seeing as it features both vampires and Nazis.

Hellsing began as a manga which was written between 1997 and 2009, and has been the subject of two anime adaptations. The first was broadcast between 2001-02, but obviously the story was not completed then. A second adaptation, a 10-part Original Video Anime (OVA) called Hellsing Ultimate has since adapted the entire story faithfully, between 2006-12. One particular area of interest to readers here is that Hellsing is one of those few anime series that is mainly set in the UK.

Anime: Hellsing

HELLSING - THE ORIGINAL SERIES (18)4 Discs (Distributor: Manga Entertainment) Running time: 298 minutes approx.

With the recent and rather long overdue (five years!) completion of the UK release of theHellsing Ultimate set of OVAs - including the first four instalments being reissued on Blu-ray - Manga have rescued the original TV series from the dust pile of titles formally licensed by the now defunct ADV label. This gives newcomers to the Hellsing franchise a chance to see the show that introduced Anime fans to the indestructible vampire Alucard as well as an opportunity for viewers old and new to "contrast and compare" with the OVA series, which was a more a faithful adaptation of Kouta Hirano's manga .

This thirteen episode series from studio Gonzo first aired on 2001 which explains the slightly archaic animation and character designs, especially in lieu of the improved quality of the visuals of the Ultimate series, but don't let that put you off - the gore and visceral horror remains a core ingredient of the show's success and the boundaries of TV standards have little effect on the level of claret spilling. Production values aside, the key difference between the two releases is that the TV show went into production while the manga was still running and, as we have seen with many other titles, the most notable being Fullmetal Alchemist, the show's writers were forced to create their own material to complete the series.

Obscure anime reviews

5. Hellsing (original series)

While the Hellsing franchise has gotten significantly more mainstream since Hellsing Ultimate (an ova reboot), the original anime is still pretty unknown to most people. The plot of the show is dramatically different from the manga at around episode eight. This isn't because the writers were lazy, it's merely due to the fact that the manga wasn't finished (and wouldn't be until 2009). Still, Hellsing is hella fun, with most scenes centering around monsters killing monsters. The main protagonist (note I didn't say hero), Alucard, is the most powerful vampire in existence, and his bloodletting of the various undead is directly proportional to how entertaining the show is.

And yet another one...Horror anime...

Hhm after a 2 month long pause, well 2 posts in a row so far are kind of...well fast. This post is all about horror anime.BasicallyI will make mini review's of 4 horror anime.

1)Another:

And so the Convention Season begins!!!

The title's a little misleading, as for at least in my mine, the season never ends...but alas, my family seems to think it doesn't start until there's only a couple months away and we've lined up some horribly difficult costume that must be done so it can compete in the cosplay contest.

Anyway, that aside, I'll fill you all in on what I'm rambling about.

Anime Mondays #29

Let's not talk about the time we didn't have, let's just talk about the time we have, shall we?Life has been pretty crazy. Two weeks ago, I was having one of the greatest concert experiences I have ever had, and last weekend I was at Comicon where I discovered the joys of wearing a Pikachu costume.Lots of Ash, even a Team Rocket, but Pokemon? There weren't a whole lot, if any.It was stupid fun, but I only went for Saturday and Sunday, and I feel like I could have used the other two days to get the full experience.Anyway, we're here to talk about anime, and it's not a lot, but I tried. Also, this post has a surprise inside, so you know what to do!

All images are from , and there are spoilers listed up to the episodes below!

A WILD POST APPEARED

So I'm finally updating after a really long time. I'm not even going to pretending that I'm going to be posting regular updates; but I can't sleep and I'm trying to keep my mind busy so I figured I would post something. As far as what's happened since my last post, new members have been added to my skype group, I've been catching up to some anime and manga, and I've been playing some games; recently Fire Emblem: Awakening. I'm going to cut this into sections of things I want to post about.

Animal Crossing New Leaf Design Packs

Greeting watchers and visitors to my blog,

I have recently acquired the addictive game called "Animal Crossing New Leaf". I am a big fan of Animal Crossing and New Leaf is the best one in the series by far. I intend to do design packs on clothing in Animal Crossing and make clothing based on video game characters, anime characters and manga characters.

Anime to watch: Hellsing Ultimate

Hellsing Ultimate is one of my favourite shows, anime or non anime. (Also, not to be confused with the show that was just called Hellsing and predated it. Same characters and same premise, but slightly different plot. Also not based directly off the manga.) Anyway I really like it partly because I think it features one of the best vampires put to screen. Partly because it features vampires period; proper, real, not sparkling, throat ripping, blood drinking vampires, and partly because it has a great set of characters, good execution, plot, and some pretty awesome fight scenes to watch.

The entire show centres around the exploits of the Hellsing Organization, and its attempts to defend England from the incursions of vampires and forces that threaten its existence. These can include everything from single random vampires, to rogue armies from the Vatican(who for some reason look like the Ku Klux Klan), and Nazis (complete with a Nazi vampire army) that survived the end of the World War II and are looking for revenge. The show is an original video animation of the manga series of Hellsing, something I also recommend picking up if you like the genre.

All these games are about to make me broke.

I don't think anyone was expecting this announcement. I wish it was a PS4 game though..

I feel like I'm being too efficient with my hobby of watching anime where I can complete a show in 2 days, that is exactly what happened with Hellsing Ultimate. I started it yesterday and now I am done like really I should do more with my day but its just so easy to sit there and absorb these shows. I love Hellsing Ultimate its one of those few anime that deal with a religious factor and it did it in a really bad ass way. I also thought for a long time that vampires were lame and pop culture really just ruined them for me but man I really wished I watched this earlier because vampires are one of the coolest things man has ever thought of. I also feel like I should of thought of nazi vampires at least once in my life like holy shit that market is so untapped to me that was an original idea which is really rare. I loved every moment of it and the visuals are stunning and gruesome which really compliment the plot and gets its point across, overall I would give Hellsing Ultimate a 9/10.

Anime Wednesdays Confession Corner: Popular Anime I Have Not Watched

I know you're all probably tired of lists since countdown week just past, but a long time ago, I did a confession corner post about the most popular books that I had not read for Literature Tuesdays and I figured it'd be cool to do the same thing with anime. I've seen a little over 30 anime, but even still, there are some really popular, mainstream ones that I have never seen before. I've never finished them, I've never even watched one episode from these series, but everyone talks about it and I see advertisements about the anime all the time. It's enough to pique my interest, but as of right now, this is a list of anime I've never watched:

Full Metal Alchemist

Why didn’t anyone force me to watch Hellsing Ultimate before?!

Another usual day in the life of being Anthony. I finished reading Great Teacher Onizuka and I am beyond sad that it had to end. It easily is one of my favorite manga of all time! The last 25 chapters are just so intense and when you reached the last page you get this feeling that this whole entire time you were one of Onizuka's students. I really wished that he was one of my teachers in high school but honestly reading this manga makes up for that, I learned a good amount of lessons from this journey. I'm also glad it ends and not even little thing is tied up because that is how life is not everything will be perfect or completed in a year you just have to leave it up to your imagination. Since I finished reading GTO I decided to watch another top 30 anime on myanimelist.com and I choose to watch Hellsing Ultimate. I never watched the original series and I read a review that said just to watch the latest version of it so I completed the first episode and this shit is radical. I always thought vampires were lame and then I watched this, its like trinity blood but WAY better. It is 10 episodes long but each one is 40 minutes plus so more like 20 episodes if you think about it like that. I'll be watching all of Hellsing Ultimate until EVO this weekend! I am REALLY terrible at fighting games but man fighting games are easily the most fun to watch. Street Fighter is easily the greatest game to watch at a pro level with all the whole wide competition. I am excited to watch all the other games like Persona 4 Arena, Mortal Kombat, Injustice and UMVC3. I wish I didn't have to miss some of Saturday's events for my Magic 14 sealed event though o well what if I become a champ?! haha O yea I watched the latest GTAV trailer today and I am super stoke for it! All the features like character stats and a weapon wheel are really going to make the game play enjoyable unlike GTAIV. I know its going to be an amazing game but I don't believe it will beat out The Last of Us for game of the year of game of generation. Anyways back to Hellsing!
